Our Code Of Conduct

To ensure that our Doctrine and Canons are upheld with the highest integrity, the governing body (The House of Bishops)

has implemented a Code of Conduct. All members and clergy of the Catholic Episcopal Church (CEC)

are expected to adhere to this code, maintaining appropriate standards of conduct.

Upon appointment, admission, or continuation of membership, all CEC members are required to confirm their

acceptance of and commitment to the CEC Code of Conduct.

Commitment to Faith and Service
Both clerics and laypersons are called to live according to the teachings of Christ and the Church.

This includes regular participation in sacraments, personal prayer, and upholding moral and ethical standards.
All members of the Church are encouraged to engage in acts of service, whether through ministry, charity, or

community involvement, demonstrating Christ's love and compassion to others.

Respect and Dignity
Clerics and laypersons must treat each other with respect and dignity, recognizing the value and contributions of every individual. Discrimination, harassment, or any form of disrespect of another, will not be tolerated..
Create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all, regardless of background, race, gender, or social status.

Foster a sense of belonging within the Church community.

Integrity and Honesty
Communicate openly and honestly in all interactions. Avoid deceit, misinformation, or any form of manipulation.
Uphold ethical standards in all actions and decisions. This includes financial integrity, respect for Church property,

and adherence to Church laws and guidelines.

Professionalism and Accountability
Clerics and laypersons must exhibit professionalism in their roles within the Church.

There should be a focus on  punctuality, responsibility, and a commitment to excellence in their duties.
Take responsibility for one's actions and decisions.

If mistakes are made, acknowledge them, apologise and take steps to rectify any harm caused.

Confidentiality and Privacy
Respect the confidentiality of information shared within the Church context, including personal disclosures and sensitive matters. Do not disclose private information without proper consent.
Protect the privacy of individuals by handling personal data responsibly and in compliance with

relevant laws and Church regulations.

Continuous Learning and Formation
Both clerics and laypersons are encouraged to pursue continuous learning and formation.

This includes theological studies, spiritual retreats, and professional development.
Welcome feedback from others as an opportunity for growth.

Use feedback constructively to improve personal and professional conduct.

Conflict Resolution
Approach conflicts with a solution-oriented mindset.

Engage in respectful dialogue to resolve disagreements and seek common ground.
If conflicts cannot be resolved independently, seek mediation or guidance from Church authorities

or neutral parties to facilitate resolution.
