In this modern world, many Christian believers prefer to define our God as one who judges, claiming that 'He' is the scary God of Wrath.

We are reminded this Trinity Sunday that our God is a symbol, not only of Eternal Love, but of Unity in Diversity, bringing to our world of difference, a sense of Beauty, Harmony, and Mission.

Beauty

There is a beauty in our God, who is Trinity.

Our God’s love and generosity, which can be found in the relationship between three individuals, extends to the whole world and to every person who lives in it.

Our God has been giving and receiving love throughout eternity, is one who invites us into a family. Without a Trinity of persons, our God would not come across as a sharing and overflowing deity.

Understanding God as 'Abba' shapes our starting point in understanding the divine essence.

For in our God there is only a good, loving and giving nature. ~~ God is personal.

Harmony

In the unity and diversity of our God, the Trinity defines harmony, giving us an example to follow.

Throughout eternity our God has shared the generous love found within the Trinity.

The Godhead displays perfect harmony — perfect unity with diversity.

Oneness for a single-person God would mean sameness. Alone for eternity without any other besides them, why would our God value others and their differences?

Mission

The Trinity is a revelation of God’s mission.

Since the beginning of time, Abba, Son and Spirit share a loving relationship.

Our God demonstrates this unending love by initiating reconciliation with the world.

Through the Son we can know the Abba. He came to bring us into His family.

Through the Holy Spirit, who dwells in the heart of creation, we are drawn to the Christ and can introduce others to Him — so they too can be part of this family.

By the Holy Spirit and through the Son we can commune with the Abba.

The Spirit transforms us to look more like the Son and to share His love in the body of Christ.

This beauty, harmony and mission is an extension of the one true God, existing in three persons.

God opens and extends a family so we may enter in and invite others to join us around the table.

Where All Are Welcome as One Body of Faith, despite difference or diversity among the members.
